What’s the best thing since sliced bread!

What else, when we are belonging to this part of the century,

It’s keeping us busy without a story.

We are writing prompts, it is helping and entertaining us,

And Yes, at times it creates a lot of fuss.

From Obama to Osama all are searched,

No one is spared in this earth.

Stealing quality time from our family, friends and mates,

It taught us to socialize on Twitter, Facebook and Classmate.

What else on Earth is so crazy and overspread,

Internet is the best thing since sliced bread!.

Happy weekend all… keep posting.

A sensation — a taste, a smell, a piece of music — what that transports you back to childhood.

 “The Childhood Transporter.”

Christmas Carols take me to my childhood. We used to take part in the winter concert and music fest.

Marbles draw my attention to childhood.

Candies take me back down the child hood lane.

Kites flying high in the sky pull my strings of childhood.

Smell of  freshly baked Cookies take me to my childhood.

The pitter patter of rain and sailing paper boats in the rain water take me to my childhood.

The fresh aroma after rain from the parched mud which was desperately waiting for some water, takes me back to my childhood.

Jon Bon Jovi, Def Lepard, Richard Marx, Pink Floyd, Bee Gees, Johny Cash, Cliff Richard any of their classics reminds me of the old days.

Above all spending time with my daughter, she is my childhood reborn and I relive my childhood with her.

First Blood

When I saw the post this came to my mind immediately First Blood

They drew First Blood, Oh what a movie it was Rambo. The stout John Rambo (Sylvester Stallone) and his baritone voice, having ghastly images of the Vietnam War which haunts him is provoked by the cops. Then whatever happens is worth watching.

So today Michelle drew the first blood by this prompt and I wrote about it.

In Good Faith…

To start with after I saw the daily prompt I read many of the responses, I did not mean to borrow ideas, today I wanted to read how others are thinking and how many people are having similar thoughts.

So most posts at least the ones I had read clearly state that they are not a church goer or a dedicated religious person and all agree to the fact that there is something, a force that drives us all.

So at times when people fall short, at times of distress, when we feel lost, when we are in the middle of nowhere, in emergency life and death situation, fear of losing –  do we utter God save me, and join our hands and look towards the sky.

It happens, I am not conservative when it comes to religion, I respect and believe in humanity above all. I had spent 12 years in a catholic school so I was brought up singing Carols.  So I enjoy most of the festivals and today y daughter sings the carols for me although she is not in the catholic now. However I love them and its nostalgic and the festive time of the year.

So this post and most of the post responding to this prompt becomes more directed towards our religious faith rather than sharing our experiences around it.

Love all and stay happy and Keep the Faith in everyone whom you love, be it your near or dear ones or your pet.

All Grown Up!!!

When was the first time you really felt like a grown up (if ever)?

All Grown Up @http://agileopedia.com/
All Grown Up @http://agileopedia.com/

As I write this post I am forced to ask myself a simple question this post has stirred up ” Have I really grown up” or I have learned the art and craft of what’s called a grown up.

Speaking the heart out I felt grown up the day I left home after my grads and decided that I am the creator of myself, good, bad or ugly all decisions will be mine and I am proud of them today.  It is like taking a stand and taking care of yourself and everything around you. You need to master the art of what’s good and bad and move ahead, this is the best way forward in the teaching by life. The more dependency you have the bigger problem you create for yourself.

The takeaway from this is that be responsible and start owning things, sooner the better and be your own decision maker. Hold on, I am not asking you to be a dull rudimentary person, I strongly believe in the phrase Work hard, party harder. So at times go with the tide and relive as a kid, after all we all have a hidden child in us.

Having a lovely kid and wife and to take their collective responsibility makes me feel the reason enough to be a grown up. It is always good however to brood in the past and relive your childhood days, now I do this with my kid and do become a kid as and when required.

I seem to enjoy my present, love my past and believe I will make a wonderful future…..

To end up I am not that bothered much about my being grown up but how fast my girl, daddy girl is growing up… Daddy’d girl she was now she goes another way….

All-Grown-UP

Kids don’t lie!!!!

Although we grow up with our parents chanting the lines that honesty  and truth is the best policy yet we are destined to contradict it as we grow wise.

Even today before leaving for work I asked my 6 year old daughter to be true, honest and humble.

So what happens as we grow, are these feeds baseless which we give to our children, when we as adults are aware that we need not speak the truth at office, to friends, while socializing etc. So why we are chanting this rhyme to our kids. The answer is that we want to imbibe moral values in our kids and let them decide later how to use this based on the circumstances.

Ask me personally there is no harm in it, I can say a lie to make people happy, to bring a smile on their face. People don’t like to share the truth with others unless required and the other person is not an acquaintance . You may praise the dress a distant relative of yours is wearing in a meet up, you just would not like to turn her head up on heels by saying it sucks.

This is noting strange but being smart, you create a space of respect for others, yourself and avoid conflicts.
